Sooner or later in a rented flat something stops: the tap drips, the power goes, the internet drops. You do not need many words to fix that, only the name of the thing and the one verb form that says it is not working. This page teaches that form, ishlamayapti.
This page is part of Uzbek for life in Tashkent, the guide for relocants and families.

It isn’t working: ishla- + -ma- + -yap- + -ti
Most sentences in the first table end in the same verb form. Take ishlamayapti apart:
- ishla-: work
- -ma-: not
- -yap-: right now, “is …ing”
- -ti: it (he, she)
Literally “it is not working”. The thing comes first, the verb last: Internet ishlamayapti. The -yap- is the same one as in boshim ogʻriyapti on the clinic page. Drop the -ma- and you have the opposite, Endi ishlayapti (it works now).
- Suv kelmayapti. The water isn’t coming. (kel- is “come”.)
- Hali ham ishlamayapti. It still isn’t working. (hali ham is “still”.)
- Konditsioner ishlamayapti. The air conditioner isn’t working.
Two other negatives sit beside it in the tables. Yoʻq says there is none: Svet yoʻq, as in the renting page. Emas says something is not a certain way: Batareya issiq emas. Use ishlamayapti when a thing should be doing something and is not.
Svet, from Russian, is the everyday word for the electricity in a flat; elektr is the standard Uzbek word, as in elektr energiyasi (electricity).
